Site Rental
Located deep in the heart of Providence’s historic ‘Industrial Valley' the Steel Yard’s two-acre site is a great destination for your conference, reception, meeting or performance. The site is available between April and October each year. We offer a range of event packages or will work with you to customize something perfect for your needs. In addition to being extremely affordable, by choosing to hold your event at the Steel Yard, you also support our programs: a percentage of your rental is tax-deductible.
Our site is available in its entirety or by area. Please consult the site rental plan site rental plan 2012 (pdf) for details on specific location. The flat price list follows below. We also welcome opportunities to develop a custom package for your event.

FLAT RATES:
Movie Platform: $100 an hour
The Commons: $250 an hour or $1,300 for a full day (8 hour period)
The Back Forty: $75 an hour
Full Site rental per day: $2,500 (8 hour access, chairs and tables included)
Full Site with South Studio: $3,000 (8 hour access, chairs and tables included)
Full Site weekend access: $4,000 (Friday at 4pm through Sunday at 4pm, chairs and tables included)
Special notes:
- Non–profits receive a 15% discount (some exceptions apply)
- Event prices are based on a 300 person maximum. (For larger numbers, please contact us)
- ALL USAGE requires a damage deposit.
OTHER:
Tables: $8 a piece
Chairs: $2.50 a piece
BBQ Rental: $50 (charcoal and tools supplied)
Smoker Rental: $100 (fuel not included)
Smoker Rental with fuel and someone who knows how to use it: $280
Lot Parking: fees vary-please contact to discuss
Use of non-preferred food vendor or caterer: $100 (per vendor)

Event license: $150
Liquor license: $200

THE EXTRAS:
A little information about what we don’t include (but you’ll probably need), some suggestions on how to get it, along with details on additional services the Steel Yard can provide:
RENTALS: Although the Steel Yard has chairs and tables available (for up to 150), your event will likely require a tent, linens, portajohns and lighting. The Steel Yard can recommend a preferred list of quality, experienced vendors whose missions are appropriate to the Steel Yard’s own and who know our site well.
FOOD AND DRINK: The Steel Yard encourages you to make your event as locally grown as possible by working with caterers who provision from area farmers, bakers, brewers and vineyards. We are happy to suggest our current favorites to you. We encourage you to pick a caterer with a liquor license. If you need us to arrange one instead, the flat fee for this service is $200.
TALENT: At the heart of the Steel Yard’s mission is our dedication to supporting a vibrant economy fueled by with creative talent. As you consider everything from overall event design to awards, centerpieces and anything else, we encourage you to investigate the extraordinary talent found right here in the Steel Yard’s community. Our local artists and performers can help you create a truly unique event. Tell us a little bit about your ideas and we’ll get the ball rolling. We can even help you find a great character to MC. Really, we can.
A NICE PLACE FOR YOUR GUESTS: The Steel Yard can recommend local B &Bs, hotels and inns to suit any budget.
THE TERMS: To reserve one of our dates, we require a 50% deposit at the time of contract. Deposits are non-refundable unless notified in writing of cancellation within 30 days from contract execution. Cancellations that occur after 30 days will result in a full loss of the deposit. Deposits are not transferable to other dates or events. Thee balance of the deposit is due no later than 1 month before the event along with a refundable $500 damage deposit. Baring issues, the damage deposit will be returned no later than 2 weeks after the event. A cancellations within 30 days of the event forfeits both the deposit and the damage deposit.
