A perfect introduction to the craft of metalworking, this course will teach the basics of heating and shaping steel. In two days we will cover fundamental blacksmithing skills such as tapering, spreading, bending, scrolling, and shouldering. These techniques are present in all levels of blacksmithing. Exposure to the pace of working the material and understanding the forge and the tools will provide the beginner with the interest and ability to take it further. This course is open to all skill levels and all tools and materials will be provided.

Instructor Info: Carley Eisenberg:
Carley Eisenberg is a blacksmith by trade and furniture maker by design. She received her Master’s in Furniture Design from Rhode Island School of Design and owns her own wood and steel furniture company. Carley was featured as one of six designers on season one of Ellen’s Design Challenge on HGTV.
