A perfect, one-night, introduction to the oldest welding process that has been in use since ancient times.... FORGE WELDING!!! What is forge welding, you ask? It’s a solid-state welding process that joins two pieces of metal by heating them in the blacksmiths forge to 2,200 degrees, and then hammering the two pieces together. The metal bonds on a molecular level; this is an ideal technique for creating looped handles. Students will leave the workshop with a forge welded poker. Previous experience is necessary; students should have taken a Beginning Blacksmithing Workshop or similar. All tools and materials are provided.
