Danika Notar

Danika Notar was born into a middle class family in the Philadelphia suburbs. Her mother a painter, her father an engineer, she was raised to appreciate the importance of function and aesthetics. She graduated from Moore College of Art and Design in Philadelphia in 1992. From there she continued to refine her craft by apprenticing, teaching and managing clay studios at Chester Springs Art Center, The Art League School and The Frederick School of Pottery. Her latest residency at The Steel Yard in Rhode Island, allowed her to stretch the conventional boundaries of the functional pottery and combine them with everyday objects, in order to create original forms that show everyday items in new ways. Currently, she lives in Massachusetts with her husband and son where she exhibits and sells her work.
