Job Opportunities
Instructors
We are always interested in interviewing instructors for our core courses and are very excited when people come to us with proposals for new courses. The Steel Yard offers classes for youth and adults in welding, blacksmithing, foundry, ceramics, and blueprint reading. Classes range from one-day, intensive workshops to six-week courses.

Teachers Assistants
Individuals with technical skills and an interest working with students are encouraged to apply for positions assisting our Youth Enrichment Partnership and Community Course instructors.

If you are interested in teaching one of our core courses, call to arrange for an interview. The Steel Yard is looking for individuals with practical experience, a professional attitude, and a genuine interest in teaching.

If you would like to propose a new class, please provide a written proposal and class plan.

Work Study
Every semester, we employ local college students who are eligible for federal work-study. Students work on a variety of projects, ranging from shop maintenance to keeping the Urban Environmental Lab's hydroponic growth systems healthy. Please call or email for more information.
